If you have been considering attending your first Societelle event, there is a good chance you have a few questions running through your mind. Will I know anyone? What do I even wear? What if it feels awkward? These are completely normal things to wonder, and almost every woman who has walked through the door for her first event has asked herself some of the same things beforehand.

So, let's walk through exactly what to expect, so you can show up feeling confident.

You Do Not Need to Know Anyone

This is the single most common concern, and it is also the easiest one to put to rest.  Nobody expects you to walk in with a group already assembled. In fact, most women attend solo the first time, and that is completely normal here.

Our events are designed to make it easy to start conversations naturally, whether that is through a shared activity, seating that encourages mingling, or simply a warm, welcoming energy from the moment you arrive. You will notice quickly that everyone in the room is there for the same reason you are, to meet new people and have a genuinely good time.

The Vibe Is Warm, Not Stuffy

Societelle events are curated to feel elevated but never intimidating. Think thoughtful details, good lighting, and an atmosphere that feels like you have been invited somewhere special.

Depending on the event, this could mean anything from a relaxed coffee morning to a sunset social by the water to a more elevated evening experience. Whatever the setting, the goal stays the same. Create a space where connection happens naturally, without anyone feeling like they are performing or being evaluated.

What to Wear

This depends entirely on the event, and each listing will give you a sense of the vibe ahead of time. As a general rule, Societelle events lean toward put together but comfortable. You will not need anything overly formal. When in doubt, business casual to smart casual is almost always a safe bet, and you can always check the specific event details if you want to be sure.

What Happens When You Arrive

When you arrive at a Societelle event, you can expect a warm welcome, whether that is from Societelle's founders or from other members who are already in the swing of things. Most events have a natural flow to them. A little time to settle in, an activity or shared moment that gets conversation going, and plenty of space to simply enjoy the evening at your own pace.

Our members find that the structure of the event, whether that is a class, a themed dinner, or a group activity, takes the pressure off entirely.

You Can Attend as a Guest Before Joining

If you are not a member yet, that is okay. Select open events are available for guests to attend before committing to membership. This gives you the chance to experience Societelle firsthand, meet some of the women already in the community, and get a real feel for whether it is the right fit for you.
